This presentation was part of the 4th Annual Mobile Mental Health Crisis Response Summit
Washburn Center for Children’s Crisis Stabilization program has recently been trained in the DBT for Adolescents model of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. The goal is to incorporate DBT skills into short-term crisis intervention as a tool for teaching adolescents methods to self-regulate. This presentation will promote a discussion of the pros and cons of incorporating DBT skills into crisis work.
Objectives:
- Increase knowledge of DBT Skills and their application with adolescents in crisis.
- Explore the potential effectiveness of short-term crisis intervention using DBT as a theoretical baseline.
- Discuss short term crisis intervention models.
