This session will cover the nuts and bolts of using de-escalation skills when responding to someone experiencing a mental health crisis. It is helpful for those new to crisis response, as well as good refresher for veteran crisis responders.
Objectives:
- Overview of crisis intervention and prevention.
- Cornerstones of de-escalation.
- Understanding barriers to effective crisis de-escalation
