In this session, recognized expert Dr. Angela Kade Goepferd will present a framework and language for understanding gender identity, discuss the importance of providers addressing their own biases, and offer specific strategies for responding effectively and compassionately to gender diverse and transgender youth and their families in crisis.

- Illustrate the potential for bias and harm to transgender and gender diverse patients in a crisis response situation.
