This presentation was part of the 6th Annual Mobile Mental Health Crisis Response Summit.
At this moment, so many of our systems seem in shambles and the need for mental health care is becoming even more critical. It may seem challenging to take this moment to pause and explore the roots of mental health in America for new strategies to support healing and resilience for the millions of Americans dealing with emotional overwhelm, grief, loss, and wildly shifting social, economic, and political realities. We must remind ourselves of how we got here, the countless examples of innovative care that emerged from unlikely places, and the power we have collectively to create safer and more healing environments for each other. This presentation is a reminder of our creativity, a celebration of our tenacity and an invitation to center our work in the most radical hope possible.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will identify three ways that historical mental health values and practices still influence modern day mental health services and have a specific impact on the future of mobile crisis services.
- Participants will demonstrate knowledge of the 7 Healing Questions and how they can be utilized as a tool for individuals and organizational assessment to support innovation.
- Participants will identify at least 2 commitments that they will make to support the co-creation of narratives of hope in their organizations and professional practices.
