This presentation was part of the 6th Annual Mobile Mental Health Crisis Response Summit.
There are many pathways into substance use concerns and recovery and each person’s journey is different. Understanding and navigating substance use concerns attending to the whole person. During this session, attendees will learn about the whole-person care approach to substance use concerns and pathways to recovery. The speaker will also discuss helpful resources and tools on the path to awareness and recovery.
Learning Objectives: This training is indented to support the audience to:
1. Identify one biological, psychological, and cultural factor with substance use concerns and recovery.
2. Describe a whole-person care approach to substance use concerns.
3. Engage one new tool/resource to utilize on the path to substance use recovery.
Content Level: Advanced level: For experienced crisis responders diving deep into a topic.
Presenter: Hannah Dufek, MS, LADC, LPCC, Clinic Director – CARE Counseling
Bio: Hannah Dufek, MS, LADC, LPCC is a mental health professional and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist at CARE Counseling. Prior to working in outpatient mental health, Hannah Dufek worked in higher education as a career and academic advisor and participated in leading panels and discussions regarding DEI initiatives at the university. She has additional professional experience working at an intensive residential treatment facility as well as community mental health work supporting refugees and immigrants. Hannah has studied the experiences of marginalized groups in therapy and has training in assessing and treating substance use and recovery in individual and group settings. Her clinical interests include identity exploration and intersections, substance use concerns and recovery, relational work, and trauma.
